Co-codamol 30/500 mg Shortage

There is currently a severe national supply issue of Co-codamol 30 mg / 500 mg tablets across the UK. It is expected that availability will be restricted until around June 2026.

This means your usual medication may not be available at the moment.

What does this mean for patients?

• Your prescription may be changed to a suitable alternative

• Your prescription may be changed to a lower amount

• We may need to offer a suitable alternative

• Pharmacies may not be able to supply this medication immediately

What can you do to help?

✔ Only order your prescription when it is due

✔ Do not stockpile medication

✔ Use any medication you already have (check expiry dates)
